Applications for the JTEL Winter School should be sent by e-mail to sabine.maassen@ou.nl.
For the application you need
1. a short CV that shows your scientific and/or your professional background.
2. a motivation letter that briefly outlines your research AND why visiting the winter school is relevant your work.
Keep your application short. In total, both documents should not exceed more than 5 pages. There is no particular formatting required.
We don't expect scientific paper contributions because the Winter School is not a conference.
If you like to receive a stellarnet grant you need to state this in your application. E.g. "I like to receive support from the Stellar Network of Excellence for my participation" would be perfectly ok. However, we don't limit your creativity.
Note, that the grants ONLY cover the participation fees (courses, accommodation, meals). Travel costs are not covered.
If you conduct your research at a Stellar Partner Institute (e.g. CELSTEC or KMI) you cannot receive a scholarship. Your institute should have the funds to support your participation directly.
We explicitly invite participants from non EU member states.
Important Note: If you are from outside the European Union and don't have a EU passport or a permanent Schengen Visa, you may need an official invitation in order to get a Visa for Austria. If you need such invitation you have to indicate this in your application. This helps us to request invitations from the Grillhof team.
